If your domain was registered successfully an annual domain fee for the coming year will be charged immediately. This fee is not connected with the annual domain fee charged by the respective registrar and is completely independent of these charges. The price of a domain name varies according to the domain extension. For certain domains (e.g. .eu, .cz, .hu, etc.), additional costs, such as a one-time registration fee, or charges for changes of owner information, may apply. Information about each domain can be found in the menu under "Domain".
During the order process you can enter the domain owner's information. If this information is left blank, we will use the current account information from which the order is being placed. Any natural or legal person can be a domain owner. The owner has all rights and responsibilities for the domain.
Once you confirm your order we start the registration process. At the time we receive notification about the successful registration from the respective registry, a domain is considered as officially registered. You will receive information per email as soon as your domain is available.
The duration of the registration process depends entirely on the registry. Usually it can take anywhere from a couple minutes to a few hours for a domain to be registered. Some registries need to see an additional confirmation, which can slow down the registration process a bit. You will find more information about this in the menu under "Domain".
Please refer to directions you got in an email we sent after we received your order. If you need to confirm your order, please follow the directions. As soon as your domain is available you will receive more information per email. If you are a new customer you will also receive login information for your ControlPanel. This interface allows you to manage the services of your domain.
You cannot reserve a domain name. A domain has to be registered with a domain owner. However, if you want to register a domain without actively using it, you can choose our hosting plan "Domain parking". With this plan your domain is just registered and you only pay the annual domain fee.
If you order a domain with the plan "Domain Parking" you have the option to choose your own name servers or mail and web server for your domain. With some hosting plans we also offer the possibilty to use own mail server.
Depending on the domain extension the transfer process can be different. If you need information about a specific domain extension, please contact our support team.
For .at domains the current provider does not have to give his consent. You can order your domain through our shop and we will initiate a transfer. The registrar nic.at will send an email to the owner's email address. The transfer needs to be confirmed by clicking the link provided in this email.
For .com, .net, .org, .info, and .biz domains the current registrar has to disable the registrar-locking (which prevents unjustified transfers). In addition the current provider has to provide you with the authentication code (auth code) that you will need to confirm the transfer. Once you placed your order and the domain registrar lock has been disabled we are able to initiate the transfer. The administrative contact as noted in the Whois will receive an email regarding the transfer. To confirm the transfer you will have to click on the link contained in this email and enter the authorization code.
Please note: Contact your current provider to find out wether you need to take further steps to cancel your services. Once the transfer is completed successfully the domain is set up on our system. Services provided by your current provider cannot be transferred. It is advisable to create a local backup of your web data, database, etc. to transfer the data manually onto our system.

Please make all changes in your ControlPanel under "Domain Information". If your changes are accepted immediately or are done manually by the respective registry depends on the domain ending.
All domains are renewed automatically one day prior to the expiry date, with exception to those domains that have been cancelled or that do not renew automatically becaue this feature had been disabled in the ControlPanel.
As soon as you request a cancelation we will send an email containing a cancelation link to the authorized email address. For some domains you can disable the automatic renewal. If this feature is enabled in your ControlPanel no further action on your part is necessary.
