1. How much does it cost if I choose a plan now and want to change it later on?
You can up or downgrade to a different webhosting plan (except WordPress and Joomla Hosting. Your charges are pro-rated so you will never pay more than you actually use. If you switch to Flexi-Star or Webhosting Gold we charge a setup fee of EUR 9.90. In order to do an up or downgrade you have to adjust the services of your current plan to the services of the new plan.
2. Is the disk space also available for MySQL Databases or just the web site?
The indicated disk space of a hosting plan is just for the web site. We offer unlimited disk space for databases based on the fair use principal. Backups that are saved to the server use web space.
3. Is it possible to use more disk space or email addresses than contained in a plan, without switching to the next?
Services that are offered in your plan can also be purchased individually. Simply log on to your ControlPanel to buy additional disk space, email addresses, MySQL databases, or FTP accounts. All charges are pro rated, and services can be cancelled any time.

4. Why would I need additional FTP-accounts?
Having multiple FTP-accounts enables you to create access to only certain areas of your web site. This is particularly useful if you would like to give access to other people. A user could download data directly from the server without being able to access the rest of the web site.
5. I have a few different domains. Could I asign each domain to its own virtual server with only one hosting plan?
Each plan only comes with one virtual server. If you would like to forward a domain to a domain also hosted by emerion you are able to do so with an extra plan included with the Domain Parking. If you selected a web hosting plan for your domain, you can forward the domain by using a PHP-file.
6. Why is your traffic limited? Other providers offer unlimited traffic!
Offering "unlimited traffic" is most often based on the fair use principal. All our plans are desinged in a way that offers sufficient traffic for a continious, and reliable web presence. Traffic usage is estimated for an entire month. If you are likely to use more traffic than included, you will receive a notification. At the end of the month we will send an other email with the exact information about your traffic usage. Additional traffic is charged with € 2.34 per 1 GB/month.
Exceeding your traffic limit will not interfere with the bandwith. No matter how much traffic your site uses, it will always be readily available.
7. Do you also allow websites with adult content?
Yes, as long as your content conforms with legal rules and guidlines. In case of a violation we will inform the respective organisation after contacting the person in charge of the website. Plase note, these kind of websites also generate high amounts of traffic.
8. How much disk space do you offer for email accounts?
Webhosting Silver and Webhosting Gold come with 1GB disk space per mailbox. All other plans come with a total of 2GB for all mailboxes.
9. How big can an email be?
The maximum size of an email is 20 MB. However, mails of this size usually cause problems for the receiver, as well as, the sender. If you want to share a document of this size with someone we recommend you use FTP. Simply upload your file and send only the link to your file, which can then be downloaded.
10. Can I make changes on my own or do I have to contact your support every time I'd like to change something?
You can manage and adjust your hosting plan and the services included in your ControlPanel. Moreover, you also have the possibility to access and manage your account and billing information.
