
Our system architecture is load balanced and cluster based. A back-end
RAID5-based network file system from Network Appliance shares the
data securely and reliably between multiple nodes. We can scale
and maintain the entire system dynamically to guarantee that a high
performance and reliability of your website is ensured.
Load Balancing
The webserver cluster is balanced by Equalizer Load Balancers so we
minimize the response time while maximizing the site availability.
The load balancer checks the load of each server and distributes
the requests to the server with the lowest load, even if the load
balancer detects that a server has failed, traffic is automatically
redirected to the remaining servers. This technology ensures
that your website is always fast and available, because it does
not depend on a single server.

Web Cluster
Each machine of the web cluster has the same configuration and delivers
the same content and is optimized to be a webserver. Wich server
is used if a webpage is requested, is controlled by the Load Balancers.
Shared Storage
The storage is the underlaying part of the entire system where all sensitive data
is stored. The data is shared between multiple nodes of the cluster.
We can scale the storage up to 1 Terabyte diskspace on the fly. We also can
assign more or less diskspace to a single partition on a server machine
without a reboot of the machine or the storage.
The storage software architecture delivers scalable performance and
storage capacity. The operating system of the storage optimizes data serving
by combining patendend file-system technology and microkernel design enabling
heterogeneous data access.
Database Servers
For databases offered in our hosting plans we have seperate servers
optimized for MySQL databases. We also can balance the load
and we are able to share databases between servers. The data is
located on the storage to ensure very fast, reliable and
secure operation of databases.
Data Security
The built-in RAID in the storage protects against data loss from disk failure
for reduced downtime and provides all servers with continous access to data.
Power supplies and cooling fans are redundant and swappable on the fly,
while hot spares deliver maximum data availability. Data on the storage
is constantly backed up to provide the highest possible data availability
and fastest recovery for mission-critical applications.
Hardware
emerion uses only brand name components. All our hardware is tested and
optimized for high performance.
